Company Overview ..........................................
- Hydro Ottawa Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hydro Ottawa Holding Inc and is based in Ottawa, Canada. The firm was founded on November 1st 2001 by the amalgamation of 5 power companies and now comprises : Gloucester Hydro, Goulbourn Hydro, Kanata Hydro, Nepean Hydro, Ottawa Hydro and Casselman Hydro.
-
The company is responsible for the delivery of electricity to over 270,000 business and residential customers in an area of over 1000 square kilometers..
- Since the deregulation of the electricity market in Ontario, other companies can now generate and sell electricity. Hydro Ottawa operates as a billing agent for many of these new companies due to its extensive access to electricity consumers.
- In addition to delivering electricity, the company also maintains street lights in the City of Ottawa and surrounding areas.
Project Overview...............................................
-
Hydro Ottawa completed the first stage of their EnterpriseOne® implementation in 2003. This phase included HR/Payroll, Fixed Assets, Inventory Management and Procurement for much of the company.
-
The Fleet division, comprising almost 300 vehicles, had not participated in the Plant/Maintenance implementation in phase one. Thus in August 2003 Sheffield Consulting submitted a proposal for the implementation of a Fleet Management system and in November of 2003 the project started.
-
The project included the implementation of Asset Management and Work Order Management, a re-evaluation of existing standards and coding structures within the whole company and the introduction of FleetMaster® modules specific to Fleet Management.
-
The project was completed at the end of March 2003, with more functionality than was proposed originally.
