Project Overview..............................................
-
The company selected J.D. Edwards OneWorld (now known as Peoplesoft EnterpriseOne® )
to be the core of its information systems strategy. Several company sites are now live with the product, including Pulp Mills, Paper Mills, Tissue Plants and Parts Distributors.
-
The objective of the project was to implement OneWorld® at a pilot sawmill and create the standards and foundation for a rollout for all the sawmills group.
-
A mill on Prince Edward Island was selected for the pilot. This small mill had no automated Plant/Maintenance or Work Order system, but was one of the lowest cost and most efficient mills in the company.
-
The mill was using J.D. Edwards World product for Payroll, Time Entry, A/P and A/R. Initially, Oneworld Plant Maintenance would co-exist with this.
- The project started in October 2002 and was completed in early February 2003. During this time, a network of representatives was formed to act as a steering commitee governing the standardization of business process, the use of JDE and coding structures within.
